Basic Dos and Don'ts For New Spa Owners
So, you’ve finally purchased that new Master Spas hot tub you’ve been dreaming about for so long…We’ve got a few simple “Dos and Don’ts” to remind you of. We hope this information helps you enjoy your spa for years and years to come!
-
- Do keep your spa covered and locked when it isn’t being used. This will prevent unwanted, unsupervised access by pets and kids. Of course, keeping your spa covered will prevent debris from falling into the water, thus saving you time fishing out leaves, branches, etc. Did you know that keeping your spa covered will also help minimize your heating bill? The cover helps your spa water retain its heat - therefore, less energy is required to maintain the water temperature.
- Do replace your water at least a couple of times a year, especially if you have “hard water” and you use your hot tub frequently. Master Spas are designed to keep your water clean and balanced with minimal effort or expense. Even still, it’s nice to start with fresh water after some time.
- Do regularly inspect your hot tub for signs of damage, leaks, and maintenance needs such as filter replacement. If you have any problems with your hot tub, contact us! Our certified Master Spas service technicians will have your spa bubbling again in no time! When it’s time for new filters, come in and see us! Our staff will get you the right filters, right away.
- Don’t skip monthly water testing and balancing. Your spa water needs to be tested monthly, even if you haven’t been using your spa. Don’t forget to clean your filters monthly as well!
- Don’t turn your heater off. For high-efficiency, covered hot tubs such as these, it costs less and requires less energy to maintain your water at a constant temperature than it does to reheat the water before each spa soak. When you’re finished using your spa, turn the jets, lights, and stereo off, but leave the set temperature control/heater on.
- Don’t get too lax about safety. As soothing and fun as spa soaks are, don’t forget to stay hydrated and stay alert. If you feel yourself getting lightheaded or overheated, exit the hot tub immediately. Always be careful entering and exiting the hot tub. Even with non-slip steps, accidents can happen.
